April 6-Meeting Summary

Thanks to Dr. Deuell for joining at our last meeting. Having just returned from the AAAAI (American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology) conference, she updated us on  the latest developments in food allergy research. Much of our meeting was spent discussing oral immunotherapy. While there is still much to be learned, the food allergy community is excited by the initial results of these studies. Much of this research as well as other studies that we discussed are summarized in last month's Food Allergy News from FAAN.

Our next meeting will be a general meeting on Monday June 8, from 7-9 pm. Since the hospital is still under construction, the location is still pending.

Surf Sweets Samples @ 4/6 Meeting

The owners of Surf Sweets, a line of natural and organic gummy candies and jelly beans, has sent us samples and coupons for our next meeting.

Their products have been formulated without the ten most common allergens and are produced in a facility free of the ten most common allergens. In addition, the products are made with organic sweetners (no corn syrup) and fortified with Vitamin C.  Surf Sweet products are available at Hannaford stores throughout New Hampshire.
